Candy Cane Miss Fortune - League of Legends Cosplay
I've wanted to say something about this cosplay since i wore it. Althought it doesn't look like much. There was quite a bit of effort that went into this cosplay. I was SO happy with this cosplay. Although i started it only the week of the convention it was still the most time i've ever given myself to make a cosplay. I managed to get my wig in time and everything just seemed to fall into place.
I made this video to show how i made the candy cane props, so i wont be posting photos of the process as they're in the video. If you have any questions about them just ask :)

For the trimming across the chest i got a white trimming unfortunately the fabric shop i went to only had sparkly trimming which i wasn't happy with so i hand plucked all the strands of sparkles.
As you can see half of the image the white trimming is matt and not sparkly where i have plucked it and the other half is sparkly where i haven't plucked it yet.
#PerfectionistProblems

I don't generally use patterns, just measure myself and pin it together. I put everything on my mannequin inside out so i can pin all the seems and then turn it the right way when its done. I started with a chest piece, and made the rest sort of like an under bust corset which then attached nicely to the chest piece i had already done. While inside out i pinned the pattern/shape for the front.

The wig i bought, i felt was too light, so i
went in search of ways to dye synthetic wigs
I bought some brown acrylic ink and i
should have mixed it with rubbing alcohol
unfortunately i couldn't find any so i searched
our garage at home and settled with turpentine.
Seeing as i had a very long wig i mixed all of the brown
acrylic ink with the turpentine in a spray bottle.
I evenly coated the whole wig in the mixture and left it to dry it was very very smelly so i had to spray some nice
smelling stuff on it afterwards. You can see in the photos the difference the mixture made.
If you want to know how i made the bows just click here. I'm sorry if the tutorial is hard to follow. If you have any queries just message me and i can try and explain it better.
I realise now i didn't even mention the hat. Will maybe link a tutorial as to how i did the hat later.
For the side parts i got white ribbon and painted similar stripes as were on the candy canes
VOILÁ.
Feeling like i've left some things out so if there are any queries ask away :)
